High Grade carbon and steel surgical scalpels are available in reusable and disposable packs for all types of surgical procedures. Re-usable scalpels have a handle that has a permanently attached blade that may be sharpened when needed. Disposable scalpels usually have plastic handle with extensible blades that are used once and the entire instrument is disposed of. Scalpel blades are usually individually packed in sterile pouches but also available in non-sterile.
