Description
Sklar's® Jackson Original Style Laryngectomy Tube is similar to the Jackson original style tracheostomy tube; however, shorter in overall length. A laryngectomy tube consists of one obturator, an inner cannula, and an outer cannula, but is intended to provide a more permanent airway than a tracheostomy tube. It is commonly placed following the removal of the patient's larynx, often due to severe trauma, such as cancer. The original style tube has a different locking mechanism than the improved style, and primarily impacts removal of the inner cannula for cleaning. The tube style that is utilized can best be determined by the physician, patient, and caregiver. This product is the #8 laryngectomy tube. It is curved with an outer cannula diameter of 12mm, and inner cannula diameter of 9.5mm, and an overall length of 55mm.
